Trim-Tex Inc. was founded near Chicago in 1969 by Joseph Koening Sr. and since then has grown from making one style of vinyl drywall corner bead to manufacturing a range of over 200 drywall solutions. With innovation a key element of the company’s DNA, Trim-Tex has increased the size of its facility by 150 times and is now located in Lincolnwood, Illinois.
The challenge
When the company introduced a new solution called Fast Edge Paper, seen as the most advanced 90° corner bead Trim-Tex had ever made, they needed to find the appropriate wrapping machinery to support the product’s launch on to the market. Made of laminated paper over a vinyl core, Fast Edge Paper provides a quicker finish over any other solution on the market.
The Düspohl solution
As Trim-Tex had never performed any wrapping operations before, and as they were confident the new solution would be successful, they needed to count on a reliable technology that would support their strategy. MultiWrap helped Trim-Tex make the introduction of Fast Edge Paper the company’s most successful product launch to date.
The results
Extremely reliable and user-friendly, MultiWrap has fast become an essential part of the Trim-Tex factory, enabling operations to ramp up to full-scale production in view of its ease-of-use. Thanks to the spot-on solution we offered in the form of MultiWrap, the Fast Edge Paper product is a fast-growing business and highly profitable product category, positioning the company for future success. After a short period and based on the huge success Trim-Tex decided to add an additional MultWrap in their production.
